NUMBERS - We start simple with the counting songs like 'Three Little Monkeys" and "One Two Buckle My Shoe" . We count stairs as we climb  and count days as we change the calendar. I try to incorporate mathematics in all areas of my daycare. For example, outside counting for Hide And Seek or in the Kitchen for measuring in baking and cooking. We compare quantities of objects, and learn about time and space. We have number puzzles and nesting buckets. There are many items we use to count, sort, stack or group such as M & M's, Beads,  or blocks. Outside we can fill and dump the trucks or move through an Obstacle course. (Climbing over, under, in, around,) I also have Trudy's Time and Space CD which has great games involving seasons, clocks, days of the week/month/year.
